Happy Friday! I have been blown away by the amazing feedback from the people who attended the SOR Summit! Here are just a few quotes about my Dysgraphia in the Classroom presentation: "Loved this presentation so informative" "I just learned so much about dysgraphia that I hadn't know before. Lisa, thank you so much for information as well as the dyslexia challenge!" "I have heard so much about dyslexia, but not much about dysgraphia. This was a well organized presentation that informed and gave great strategies to try." I always love helping educators expand their knowledge and helping even more students than I can see in my office each week. There are only so many kids I can help directly, but helping educators ensures even more kids get the help they deserve! This event had so many great trainings that I know I definitely need to go catch up on them myself. I'm particularly fond of learning from my OT friend, Kelli who is always a wealth of OT knowledge and and overall great human. 😃 While the main event has come to a close, it's not to late to buy the recordings and watch on your own schedule and get the professional development certificates, but be quick, it's only available for a couple of days!
Have a great weekend! |

Happy Sunday! I usually like to send my emails on Thursdays, but life has been rough to say the least. I've been dealing with a severe asthma flare for the last couple of months and many trips to hospitals, so I take my bursts of energy when I can, so here we are on a Sunday morning finding the happiness in a good day. One thing that gives me a burst of energy is when I see my students shine. Two weeks ago I got an email from a dad of my former student that made me happy cry with pride. I...

Hey Reader, I know summer is a time for rest and recharging, but it's also a great time to discover new ideas and strategies when you aren't rushing to make copies or plan your next set of reading lessons. One of the hardest things as a teacher is getting professional development from people who haven't taught in a classroom in a decade. Just like me, so many of the Science of Reading Summit presenters work directly with kids each and every day. They know know what works... and what only...
