Hey Friends, and maybe a few strangers who haven't heard from me yet... Every year I look forward to Dyslexia Awareness Month in October and the upcoming International Dyslexia Association Conference. I like doing my free live trainings each October. I like helping more teachers and parents understand new things about dyslexia. And then this year happened... (don't want to read my story? Skip to the end for the special 50% off promo code) My asthma became very severe and stopped responding to traditional treatments, so I haven't been able to do any of my usual emails to you, nor the podcast. I've only taught my wonderful students this year and cherished the patience of their parents with my ongoing health issues. Then I had some unrelated health complications that lead to having a hysterectomy last week. Thankfully all of that went well and healing is going as planned. I originally thought I'd have the energy to do at least one video training for Dyslexia Awareness Month while I'm recovering, but that really isn't going to happen. I'm tired. I need rest. BUT that doesn't mean I'm not doing anything to help spread the word about dyslexia this month. Everything is on sale, so pick a workshop and start learning! Workshops start at just $28.50 with the code: OCTOBER 50% off ALL of my on-demand workshops until Halloween!Promo Code: OCTOBER Check out all the workshops HERE 🎓 Plus, workshops include a certificate of completion that may also count toward professional development hours for your school, but each state and district has it's own rules, so please check your specific the requirements. |

Happy Sunday! I usually like to send my emails on Thursdays, but life has been rough to say the least. I've been dealing with a severe asthma flare for the last couple of months and many trips to hospitals, so I take my bursts of energy when I can, so here we are on a Sunday morning finding the happiness in a good day. One thing that gives me a burst of energy is when I see my students shine. Two weeks ago I got an email from a dad of my former student that made me happy cry with pride. I...
